Pakistan snatched back victory from Srilanka

Back in the year 1999 Pakistan was one of the most dangerous team in the world. They had some huge names in both batting and bowling and they used to defeat every team. Wasim Akram was the captain of Pakistan in those years and he led the side really well.

Here we see one of the games played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the same year. Pakistan was playing a triangular

series against India and Sri Lanka. In this game the match went to the end and Sri Lanka should have won this one. But Wasim and Shoaib denied this win.

Pakistan snatched back victory with three balls to spare, after Sri Lanka reached a confident 155 for one in the 34th over, needing 92. They still held the advantage at 217 for three. Then De Silva ran himself out and their remaining wickets went for 20; Wasim Akram finished with three, plus three catches. Pakistan began in smashing form, as Saeed Anwar and Shahid Afridi opened with 148 in just 20 overs. But Anwar fell to a superb return catch by Chandana, starting a collapse of six for 12. Their tail wagged, however, Saqlain Mushtaq steering them to a total of 246 - just enough.

MS Atapattu retired hurt on 19* from 44/0 (7.4 ov) to 232/8 hit hard on the fingers by Shoaib Akhtar. At the end of iining Atapattu come again to play but this time Wasim akram Brilliant Yorker bowled him. This match was memorable for Pakistani Cricket Fans.
