Sarfraz Ahmed interview after 1st T20 2017

Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is happy with the proceedings in West Indies. His side won comprehensively yesterday against hosts in the opening T20 of the series. Pakistan played really well in both the innings and won the game with ease.

Sarfraz in his interview after the game said that he would like to credit the win tit he bowlers. They made the job easy. There were no much runs on the board in the second innings and hence the batting did not come under any pressure.

Sarfraz first talked about the pacers and he was extremely happy with the way Wahab Riaz bowled. He said that every bowler did well. Wahab Riaz bowled good balls in the final spell. He was bowling against the win and yet he looked really good and that is something needed from him.

So that's it from us. Pakistan have taken a 1-0 lead in the 4-match T20I series. West Indies will look to come back stronger in the next game after this disappointing performance. We now head to Port of Spain for the second T20I which will take place on March 30th, 2017 at 1230 local ( 1630 GMT). Until then, goodbye and cheers.

Pakistan skipper, Sarfraz Ahmed thanks the Almighty first up. Credits the bowlers for bowling extremely well and performing the way they did. Mentions his side have the psychological edge over West Indies and they want to continue with it. Says he told Shadab Khan to bowl just like he did in the Pakistan T20 League and ends by saying that he does not want his team to ease the pressure off the Windies now.

Man of the Match, Shadab Khan thanks the almighty. Says that it was a dream debut for him and hopes that he will continue to do so. Adds that the conditions were similar to the wickets he played in the Pakistan T20 League. Ends by saying that the pitch did help the spinners.

West Indies skipper, Carlos Brathwaite says they came out and did not expect what happened to happen. Mentions they did not bat well as the debutant Shadab Khan bowled well and it was difficult to come back after the collapse in the middle. Adds each player must know how to play against every bowler, have a gameplan against them and then play accordingly, as it is detrimental to the team. States that he is happy with his individual performance as a lot of hard work went in it.

The West Indies bowlers didn't have much to defend. They did put up a fight and did the best they could, but some more runs from their batsmen could have made the game more interesting in the very least. The hosts plucked some wickets at regular intervals, but they were always going to need a miracle from somewhere to pull this one off. Earlier in the day, a stupendous bowling display led by debutant Shadab Khan saw West Indies being restricted to 111.

A comfortable win for Pakistan to say the least. With the scoreboard pressure virtually non-existent and just a paltry target of 112 to chase, Pakistan were always in control of the game. Got off to a steady start and then a solid 46-run stand between Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik was more than enough to ensure that the visiting side won this game with ease.
