Sangakkara takes a ripper on Amir’s bowling

Mohammad Amir strikes here in his opening spell. The Islamabad Untied have lost their first wicket here. Smith is out and this is an absolute beauty of a catch from Karachi Kings captain Sangakkara. This wicket goes to him and none other.
This was superb take from Sanga. He had to leap in the air to his right and he covered some serious distance here with this. He took the catch with his right hand and there has not been a catch taken like this in the PSL so far. Truly majestic work from Sangakkara.

Mohammad Amir was the bowler here. He was only the bowler who bowled this ball. If he would have been in the background still there was no effect made. This catch was the main attraction and people might have realized later that it was Amir who bowled this ball.

Karachi Kings did not bat well in the first innings. They are defending a lot total against the Islamabad side hence they need efforts like these. If the captain is throwing himself around in the field then the players also get a lot of boost and they go for everything. This is one of those catches who turns the game. Smith is the leading run scorer in the PSL so far so his catch matters a lot.

Mohammad Amir picked up the first wicket for the Karachi Kings and this wicket was less his and more Sangakkara’s. The Karachi Kings captain took a blinder here. This was a stunning piece of fielding from Sangakkara. He threw himself like Superman here after the ball.

Kumar Sangakkara was serving as the wicket keeper here once again. Smith threw his bat to the ball only to produce a huge outside edge. Now the ball was flying towards the gap in between Sanga and first slip. Sanga made a huge dive to right and took the catch.

Sangakkara was brilliant here. There are no words to describe the excellence of his work here. He threw himself despite knowing that this was a 50-50 chance. In fact there were less chances of him taking this catch. It was far away from him.

He hit a full length dive and yet the ball stuck in the thumb and index finger gap which is covered by rubber in the wicket keeper’s gloves. Gayle was all admiration towards his skipper. He knew that this was a huge effort from Sangakkara.

These catches and fielding efforts can win Karachi this low scoring game. They did not bat well enough and hence they failed to make much of a total. But if they keep on bowling well and take their catches then they can win this one. It is a tough chance but they can do it. They have the bowling in their line up to trouble Islamabad. Also the Islamabad United batting is not in a good touch. They have not fired in batting as a team so far.

Great catches by Wahab Riaz and Babar Azam against Australia

After Pakistan's woeful fielding in the fourth ODI I in Sydney, they wanted to start well in Adelaide. Alas, the first ball of the match, David Warner r edged an out swinger from Mohammad Amir and at second slip, Azhar Ali hurled out his left hand but couldn't make the ball stick. It was a tough chance, but a costly one. Warner went on to make 179, his career-best knock in ODIs. Warner was dropped again, though by this time he already had 130. And this time it was a sitter. Warner skied the ball off Hasan Ali and Amir, running in from long-on, positioned himself perfectly under the ball, only to have it spill straight through his fingers. It was less costly than Azhar's miss, although Warner still added almost 50 more runs from that point. Straight after Amir's blunder, the TV cameras cut to Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur and fielding mentor Steve Rixon. Heads were in hands, faces were long, and no words were being spoken. The fifth and final ODI of the series between Pa...
