Dawid Malan on why he came to Pakistan

Dawid Malan the Peshawar Zalmi opener was the surprise package from the PSL final. He was the only English player who came to Pakistan for the finals. In the presser he was asked about the reason he decided to come to Pakistan.

Malan said that the reason was his captain, team owner and PCB. He said that Peshawar Zalmi is like a family. The captain Sammy decided that he will play the final in Lahore. So the other players including himself went with their captain. There was an assurance from the PCB as well for the security.

Malan said that it was his own decision and no one forced him. He was told by the captain Sammy, Javed Afridi who is the Peshawar Zalmi owner and then the PCB representatives that the security will be foolproof in Pakistan. The assurances made him confident and he came to Pakistan.

The Peshawar Zalmi won the final of the PSL last night. They played some quality cricket and the Quetta Gladiators who have been excellent throughout the whole event looked no match to them. The Peshawar Zalmi were a far better team compared to the Gladiators because they had their whole unit playing the final. Only Afridi was absent from the playing eleven because of the hand injury.

In the list of major names of foreign players who decided to come to Pakistan for the PSL final one is Dawid Malan. The English cricketer was part of the Peshawar Zalmi playing eleven last night. In the presser he was asked for the reason he came to Pakistan.

Malan said that this is true that other English players refused to travel to Pakistan but then his captain Sammy decided to go to play the final and despite having a clear choice of saying no he too decided to give it a shot. He said that there was a lot of assurance from his captain, team owner and PCB as well.



Malan said that the Peshawar Zalmi is less a team and more a family. There was always a chance that the team going to play the final as a whole unit. He said that there were a lot of assurances given to the Peshawar Zalmi players.

He said that Sammy, the team owner Javed Afridi and the PCB assured all the players that there will be no compromise on the security of the players. He said that after coming here he was assured that everyone kept their words.

Peshawar Zalmi won the final last night and it was a huge moment for this team. They have been playing good solid cricket throughout the whole tournament. The did not have Shahid Afridi in their playing eleven last night but still they managed to seal off a great game. Quetta Gladiators were of no match to the like of Zalmi. They were below the winners in both batting and bowling. Sarfraz mentioned that his side did not play good cricket.
