Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy was delighted after his side won the PSL title this year. The Peshawar Zalmi was one of the finest sides in the PSL first year and this year as well. In the first edition they failed in the playoff stage.
This time they did it and won comprehensively in the playoff and then the finals. Peshawar Zalmi captain in the second edition was Darren Sammy. The former West Indian captain said at the presentation that he was extremely happy for the way his side played.
Sammy Thanked Shahid Afridi for giving him the opportunity to lead the Peshawar Zalmi side. He said that it was a great opportunity for him and he would like to thank Afridi for all the support he has given him in the event. Sammy said that the owner of Peshawar Zalmi Javed Afridi was another person who supported him a lot.
Sammy said that he title is for the people who supported the Peshawar Zalmi side. He said that it was a huge opportunity for him to play the final of the event in Lahore. The people in Lahore were really supportive and their passion for cricket is beyond imagination.
Sammy also said that the PCB made some excellent security measures and the players were feeling safe in Pakistan. There was no issue encountered of any sort. It was a great venture to come to Pakistan and play the PSL final. He said that he would like to come back again.

He said that last year they played well but were unlucky not to qualify for the finals. This year they made sure that they done stuck anywhere this time. The Peshawar Zalmi lost their first playoff against Quetta but then they defeated Karachi comprehensively and then in the final they remained at the top.
Darren Sammy said that he would like to thank Shahid Afridi first. It was his decision to make him the captain of the Peshawar Zalmi side. He said that it was a big moment for him and he had to show all his expertise for the job. Afridi was always there with his support.
Sammy then said that Javed Afridi the owner of the team was always very helpful and he was right there beside him all the time. The Peshawar Zalmi played excellent cricket. It is not a team but a family and this is the reason they all came to Lahore as well.
Sammy said that the people in Pakistan have always been very supportive to the Peshawar side. He was more than happy to be here amongst the people of Pakistan. The passion for cricket in this country is immense and there should be cricket back here in this part of the world. He also said that he would like to come again to Pakistan.
