Umar Akmal talks about being compared to Kohli

Once again Umar Akmal was asked about a very old question. The comparison with Kohli. There is no comparison between the two at the moment. Kohli is the best batsman in the world while Umar Akmal is an average
batsman who sometimes clicks while most of the times is a failure.

Umar once again repeated the same lines we have been listening since ages, his batting number. He said that he played his cricket at number six and hence he could not do much. He should be given the example of Michael Bevan for Australia then.

Umar Akmal to some extent is right here. There are many thing which matter here. Kohli was always a different sort of a batter. Umar Akmal was different. Kohli knows the game like the back of his hand. He has multiple hundred in the major two formats.

He is a prolific test player. Umar Akmal has not played test cricket for ages now. He has played well but then again there are failures which he cannot cover. The position in the batting line matters but you can stand and deliver even at number six as well.

Michael Beven played a lot of ODI cricket at number six for Australia. Adam Gilchrist used to play at the same number in test cricket for Australia. There are many other examples. So these things should nppw be left behind by Umar Akmal.

Umar Akmal once again has been asked about his comparison with Virat Kohli. There is no comparison between the two at the moment though but in the past back in 2009 when Umar Akmal was compared to the right hander batter from India.

In those years Kohli and Umar Akmal came to international cricket. Kohli played some exceptional cricket and still is playing in the same manner. Umar Akmal did get a good start but then he became a complete failure and he still is one. He always blames the number. Once again he gave the reason that his number was low so he could not score much.

This is not the first time Umar Akmal has put the blame on the number. First he says he is comfortable in playing on any number and now he is saying that he has not played up the order hence he should not be compared with Kohli. To some what he is right in his demand.

There was and there is no comparison between the two. Kohli is another league. He is another phenomenon. At this young age he has scored 17 hundreds while going for the chase. Now this is something only one batsman has done in the past and his name is Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli is now the Indian captain in all the three formats. The BCCI has always trusted him. This has not happened with Umar Akmal. If at times he was standing at the wrong end of the road then there are times when he did not get the backing which he should have.

Great catches by Wahab Riaz and Babar Azam against Australia

After Pakistan's woeful fielding in the fourth ODI I in Sydney, they wanted to start well in Adelaide. Alas, the first ball of the match, David Warner r edged an out swinger from Mohammad Amir and at second slip, Azhar Ali hurled out his left hand but couldn't make the ball stick. It was a tough chance, but a costly one. Warner went on to make 179, his career-best knock in ODIs. Warner was dropped again, though by this time he already had 130. And this time it was a sitter. Warner skied the ball off Hasan Ali and Amir, running in from long-on, positioned himself perfectly under the ball, only to have it spill straight through his fingers. It was less costly than Azhar's miss, although Warner still added almost 50 more runs from that point. Straight after Amir's blunder, the TV cameras cut to Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur and fielding mentor Steve Rixon. Heads were in hands, faces were long, and no words were being spoken. The fifth and final ODI of the series between Pa...
