Shahid Afridi innings last night was one of the very best in this second edition of the PSL. It has been a roller coaster ride for the Peshawar Zalmi side. They were almost out of the game last night and then Afridi happened. The innings was a match winning one.
The night was emotional for the team and Zalmi fans as well. Some find it really hard to control the emotions. But that is the love we all have in our hearts for cricket. Shahid Afridi has done really well once again. He is the star of the show in this PSL.
Peshawar Zalmi bowled well last night. Asghar the left arm young gun fired and picked up both the Quetta openers. He was the one who picked up the important wicket of KP as well. He was later named the man of the match as well.
Despite chasing a low total the Peshawar batting line fumbled. They stutter at the start and then in no time they were 5 wickets down. There was a sense of emergency in the match at that point for the Zalmi. This was the moment when Shahid Afridi who was new to the crease took the responsibility upon his shoulders. There were runs left to chase and it was Shahid Afridi who managed them all. He batted till the end and took his side over the line.
Last night it was an emotional night for the Peshawar Zalmi players and fans. They had to win their last group stage game in order to qualify for the play offs and get some momentum. The Quetta Gladiators were their opponents who are a really strong side.

One particular girl was seen shedding a lot of tears. She was very nervous when Afridi was batting and there were runs to chase. At that point there was no other batsman left to bat with Afridi. He was playing with Hasan Ali. Mills was firing his cannons to the batters.
There was everything happening in the center of the pitch. Shahid Afridi was the one who held his nerves together. He has done this so many time and last night he did it once again. His 45 runs changed the game and put Zalmi on the top of the game.
There was no other batter from Zalmi who made an impact on the game except for Afridi. He batted till the end and in the last overs he smacked two fours and took Zalmi home. The win put them at the top of the points table and also they are in the playoffs now. One place is left for the playoffs and that will be decided tonight. It will be either Karachi Kings or Lahore Qalandars.
