Shoaib Akhtar is known as the fastest bowler ever in the history of cricket and has bowled the fastest delivery officially recorded at a top speed of 161.3km/h. Akhtar has
a number of fast bowling records. He has bowled at speeds of 159.3 km/h, 160 km/h, 159 km/h and 158.4 km/h. The fastest was against England in the 2003 Cricket World Cup when the ball was recorded at 161.3 km/h. The next fastest three were against New Zealand in 2002 and the other three were against Sri Lanka in the same year. He is the first bowler in the history of cricket to have been recorded to bowl over 100 mph.

Shoaib Akhtar is a scary dream for Indian cricketers. The world class batsmen of Indian team have a fear in their heart to face shoaib akhtar. Tendulkar is the best batsman in world but he also face Shoaib with hesitation. Akhtar take the wicket of Sachin many times in his career. In this match Akhtar has amazing bowling against India. He got 4 wickets for 25 runs only.


Akhtar's run of impressive performances started in 1999, during a pre-World Cup series against India. It was followed by outstanding bowling performances in Sharjah and later in 1999 Cricket World Cup. His most significant performance was in India in 1999 when he captured eight wickets in the Asian Test championship match at Calcutta – including the wickets of Indian batsmen: Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar when he bowled both batsmen off successive deliveries. It was the first ball he ever bowled to Tendulkar.
