RAWALPINDI:
A clash between two groups at a boys’ college on Wednesday resulted in the death of a student and a subsequent protest by his classmates.

Tauqir Abbasi, a BA student at Government Asghar Mall College, was allegedly shot dead by Faizan Jadoon, a former student of the college after their groups had a clash.
A professor at the college, requesting anonymity, said that two groups of boys scuffled in the ground of the college at
about 11:00am. They were reprimanded by college teachers for picking a fight. He said that boys of one group left the college premises while threatening the other.
The professor said that after about one hour, they heard gunshots outside the college. When college staff reached there, they learnt that the two groups had clashed again, this time with their respective entourages involved. The clash resulted in the death of Tauqir who is said to be an active member of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT), the student wing of Jamat-e-Islami.
Sub Inspector Nasir Waseem, who is leading the investigation, said Abbasi had been shot in the neck, which led to his death at Holy Family Hospital. He said that the Banni police had registered a murder case and were looking for a suspect named Faizan Jadoon.
Later in the evening, IJT activists protested after Abbasi’s funeral. Their protest at Chandni Chowk blocked the busy Murree Road. They demanded the arrest of the killer.
In a separate incident, an old woman was killed after she was hit by a moving train near Marrir Chowk in the Waris Khan area.
According to Rescue 1122, they received emergency called at about 5:30pm that a woman had been hit by a train near Marrir Chowk.
The woman was later identified as Khadim Bibi, 65. She was trying to cross the track when the train hit her. Her body was shifted to DHQ.
Meanwhile, a man attempted suicide by jumping from a metro bus track bridge on Murree Road near Liaqat Bagh.
The unidentified man, aged around 40, jumped from the pedestrian bridge near Liaqat Bagh Metro Station and landed on a rickshaw under the bridge. He broke his leg and was shifted to DHQ for treatment.

Top 5 moments of PSL 2017 so far

Pakistan Super League's second edition is well under its way and has given us some memorable moments already. Here's a compilation of the top five unforgettable moments so far: 1. Brendon McCullum’s captaincy in low-scoring thriller against Zalmi (watch video at the end) February 12, 2017 will go down in the history of cricket as the night when fans witnessed a low-scoring thriller at its most incredible. Lahore Qalandars’ batting imploded against Zalmi, as the team got all out for 59 – the lowest ever total in PSL and the second-lowest in Pakistan’s entire domestic cricket records. But what happened next was unreal. The Qalandars, guided by Brendon McCullum’s brilliant and aggressive captainship, fall just three wickets short in pulling off probably the most incredible win in the game’s history. The match got as intense as Zalmi lost one wicket after another; it wasn’t for the weak-hearted to watch. 2. What a catch..But what a selfie! (watch video and Photo at the end) Pes...
