Best Openers of Pakistan Saeed Anwer & Amir Sohail

Since the departure of Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail many years ago Pakistan is struggling to get an opening pair like them. These two were the best when it comes to giving Pakistan the best start possible with the bat. They were the two genuine most.

Saeed Anwar and Aamir by far were the best openers for Pakistan. These two played a lot of games together and they used to understand each other a lot. They were the best partners with the bat. The two played some best knocks with each other.

Here we see these two batting against India in the famous 1996 quarter final. Pakistan could not win the game but these two gave a lot of hammering to the Indian bowlers. They played some extraordinary cricket with the bat. It was sad to see Pakistan losing despite these two giving a very strong opening stand.

Saeed was a natural time of the ball. He was the best on both sides. He used to drive the ball like no other. Aamir was more of a hard hitter sort of a batsman. He used to hammer the ball hard and long. These two gave Pakistan a lot of good starts in both tests and ODIs.

In an interview with ecb.co.uk, the Sussex and England man reflected on a whirlwind few days in Pakistan, and his decision to play a match many overseas players turned down. “It was pretty surreal! Obviously from making the decision to go, we were well briefed and everything was well documented about how everything was going to run from the time we left on the plane from Dubai to the time we got back.” said Jordan. “As soon as we landed in Lahore, we were met by military guys, escorted straight onto a bus and had a 10-minute drive to the hotel with a full escort. The road was cordoned off and no-one was on the streets – it was a bit unreal!” ...
